ON Friday, April 23, I visited Lidl to do some shopping. Whilst packing the goods, I noticed the washing-up liquid bottle was leaking so asked the lady at the till if I could exchange it.
Then I found I had to go outside to come in again and rush round to the correct block.
To my horror, I realised I had left my handbag on the packing shelf! And to my intense relief there was a lady who had taken it upon herself to 'stand guard' over my handbag.
I did thank her at the time but I now wish I had thanked her more profusely, as the 'heart-stopping' experience of losing one's bag which almost always contains money, credit cards, car keys, etc., is only to be guessed at.
So once again, Ms Anonymous, a sincere thank you for your honesty and thoughtfulness.
