AN 18-year-old man has been arrested and released on bail after a crash in Bury which left two people seriously injured.
A Peugeot 405 saloon collided with a lamp post and overturned in Bury New Road, Radcliffe, at 11.40pm last Friday.
Both men were taken to Fairfield General Hospital where their conditions are described as serious.
Police say the driver lost control on a left hand bend before the car crashed into a wall and a lamppost on the opposite side of the road. The driver managed to get back onto the correct side of the road before it rolled onto its roof and collided with a tree.
An 18-year-old man was thrown from the car and suffered severe bruising and a serious head injury.
Another man of the same age had to be cut free from the car by the Fire Service and he too suffered serious head injuries.
Both men were taken to Fairfield General Hospital where their conditions are described as serious.
A teenager later presented himself at Bury police station where he was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an injury road traffic accident.
He has been bailed until the weekend.
