THE coroner, Michael Singleton, should have used the powers given to him to request a change in law after Amy Houston was knocked down and killed.
He has the chance to make a difference even if his one request stands alone.
The man who was driving the car knew full well that he was uninsured, had no licence and had no right to be driving in the first place.
Characters like this need to be made to take responsibility for their reckless actions and the judge should have charged him with manslaughter. He should never forget he's killed an innocent girl.
It makes you wonder whose side the justice system is on. The victims or the offenders.
After reading the story I just feel worry for the family and angry at such a light sentence handed out.
NEIL FORRESTER, London.
