PETER Billington urges us not to vote for those who disapprove of mixed marriages or have an insensitive attitude towards the disabled (Telegraph, April 29).
I must confess, I am now in somewhat of a quandary as to who should get my vote in the forthcoming elections.
Parties who field Muslim candidates must be precluded, as they are virulently opposed to the aforementioned practice of mixed marriages, and if council leader Peter Britcliffe's unfortunate and less than sympathetic comments to a colleague with a walking stick (Telegraph, April 29), are an example of Conservative attitudes towards the disabled, I can hardly give them my vote.
As for those who stir up trouble 'for their own ends', don't all political parties do this?
I fear a spoilt ballot paper seems my only recourse!
JOYCE PLUMMER (Mrs), Accrington.
