A CLAN of Burnley pub fundraisers have donated more than £1,000 to the family of the tragic Waddington sisters.
Parents Jane and Barry were at the Corporation Pub, Oxford Road, on Monday to receive the cheque for £1,150.
Landlords at the Corporation, Forresters, Circulation and the Oxford all took part in a three-legged race on the day to boost the final total.
Jimmy Granger, landlord of the Corporation, started raising money for the family after hearing that Louise Waddington, 11, 10-year-old Hayley and Gemma, seven, all died in the blaze at their Lancaster Drive home in February.
He has organised events including a wheelbarrow race and a sponsored 'bush tucker trial' style eating challenge.
Jimmy is now hoping to turn the May Day fundraiser into a regular event. He said: "Both Jane and Barry were at the pub to receive the cheque which they were delighted with. We raise money for lots of local charities so when we heard about this tragedy we turned our attentions to raising money for the girls' parents.
"Thanks to local business sponsorship all four pubs now have personalised wheelbarrows to race next May Bank Holiday."
