A MOTORIST who sped off when police tried to breathalyse him was jailed for two months by Blackburn magistrates.
The court heard that a police officer stopped Alan Stephen Walmsley, but as he approached the vehicle Walmsley drove off.
Another officer joined the search for Walmsley, who was seen driving at speed and without regard for other road users in and around Longridge.
Walmsley, 45, of Fairsnape Avenue, Longridge, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol and failing to provide a roadside breath sample. He was convicted of dangerous driving after a trial.
Walmsley was banned for three years and ordered to pass an extended re-test before getting his licence back. Walmsley will also be reported to the Secretary of State for him to decide when, if at all, his licence should be returned.
