ROTHERHAM boss Ronnie Moore is believed to be willing to discuss the vacant manager's job at Burnley.

Moore, the father of Clarets striker Ian, still has one-year remaining on his current Millmoor contract.

Newspaper reports yesterday claimed that the Liverpudlian, who has been in charge of United for seven years, had agreed to sign a new two-year deal.

However, I understand that not to be the case and that Moore WOULD entertain an official approach, should Burnley chairman Barry Kilby target the 51-year-old.

Moore would, however, come at a price as a contract clause exists that means anyone wanting his services must pay Rotherham £150,000 in compensation.

An added complication is a protracted takeover deal at Millmoor, where the consortium looking to seize control are reportedly ready to make a substantial cash injection and offer Moore a place on the board.

However, the Millers boss would surely fit the profile of a Burnley manager that Kilby is seeking, having already steered the Yorkshire club to back-to-back promotions in 2000 and 2001 on a shoestring budget.

Moore today said: "Burnley are a big club and I am sure many managers will be interested but I have had no approach from them," said Moore.
