TUITION and support from Curtis Cup star Kim Andrew is certainly paying dividends for Clitheroe's rising star golfer Sophie Brooks.
Teenager Sophie invited Clitheroe's Paul Connolly to partner her in the Ladies Invitation greensome and they put on a sparkling performance to take the top prize with a nett 67.
Not to be outdone, Kim and partner husband Robert Andrew, took the gross prize with a 76.
Another family affair saw Evelyn and Fred Forrest take second spot from Maureen Micklewright and John Holt.
Andrew Bennie continues to impress, winning himself a visit to Carden Park in July for the VW Masters and a short trip to Whalley Golf Club in May as leading qualifier from Clitheroe for the ELGA Handicap Trophy.
Andrew took Division One with an amazing net 67 off his five handicap just one shot too good for Carl Drinkwater in second place.
Alex John Taylor pipped past junior captain Bill Wood and council member Peter Dunn for third spot after a card play-off.
Settle's Bert Hemingway topped Division Two with an impressive round of 69 leaving tonsorial artist Gary Moores and Earl Kenyon one shot adrift with Simon Raine and Norman Fielding taking the minor prizes.
Scratch golfer Mark Ashworth would need to beat the course record to win a medal round at Clitheroe these days, but was content to take the gross prize with a one under 70.
