RADCLIFFE'S police chief is urging members of the public to report all crimes of theft, because some victims do not bother.
Head of township Inspector Steve Clark said: "We all keep things in our sheds and garages that people want to buy during the summer months, like gardening tools and mowers. And if someone wants to buy those things, there will be others who will steal them to sell them.
Insp Clark is encouraging anyone who has been the victim of crime to inform the police so that officers can concentrate their efforts.
He added: "Sheds and garages are also easy to break into. If you have a £1,000 bike in a £100 shed, protected with a £1 padlock, you might want to reconsider your security arrangements."
