PARENTS picking up children from schools in East Lancashire face a crackdown after statistics revealed that the school run was rife for speeding.
They will be occasionally targeted when the new mobile speed camera wardens take over from the police later this month.
In addition, an educational message about the dangers of breaking the limit will be pushed in school so children can challenge their parents.
And a marketing campaign is planned to ensure the message gets across.
The crackdown is being launched after an analysis of statistics showing the type of people caught speeding and at what time of day.
Adrian Emberton, head of the ticketing arm of the Lancashire Partnership for Road Safety, said: "We are looking at mums on the school run. The amount of offences between eight and nine am and three and four pm goes up.
"They may be in a rush but it is the mothers posing a danger to children. We will be targeting them."
