EARLY Bolton Association table-toppers Elton's excellent start to the season continued as they picked up a maximum 20 points from last weekend's games.
Entertaining Edgworth on Saturday they enjoyed a fine seven wicket victory from a game they fully expected to win.
The visitors were put into bat on an indifferent Leigh Lane track and soon seemed to be in the driving seat, when new professional Syddall and experienced campaigner Edwards guided them to 60 for 2.
However, cometh the hour cometh the man, and off-spin bowler Mark Goddard ripped through the middle order, finishing with 6-34, as the Turton side slumped to 101 all out.
Newcomer Damien Keegan showed his batting prowess hitting an exciting 45 to compliment his collection of four catches in the first innings.
Supported by a grafting unbeaten 40 from professional Dexter Fitton, Elton ran over the line with ease.
Sunday's clash at Spring View should have proved to be a harder nut to crack.
Evergreen Elton captain Graham Bushell lost the toss and Elton were put into bat, but Fitton was unable to repeat his performance of Saturday and was dismissed early.
However, it proved to be a day for the amateurs as Goddard, Chris Read, Darron Foy and Keegan all made valuable contributions to the final total of 189 all out.
This was expected to be well within Spring View's reach, as they are widely renowned for having the strongest batting line-up in the league.
Foy had other ideas, however. The former Elton professional ripped through the middle order to return figures of 7-12 in 10 overs.
Supported by a resurgent Stephen Filkins, who put paid to professional Ari Sarker and overseas amateur Rob Turnbull, Elton skittled the Wiganers for a paltry 56.
