A PRESTWICH dentist has been installed as the president of the British Dental Association (BDA).
Dr Anthony S. Kravitz OBE will become the 117th president and will represent the BDA at meetings and events across the UK and overseas during his 12 month term of office.
Father-of-three Dr Kravitz, of Hilton Lane, was awarded his OBE in the New Year's Honours List of 2003 for his services to dentistry.
After qualifying as a dentist in 1966 at the age of 21, he was believed to be the youngest person ever to hold a UK dental degree.
During his distinguished career in dentistry, Dr Kravitz was first appointed to the BDA'a national representative body in 1982 and from 1997 to 2003 was the chief negotiator for the UK's NHS general dental practitioners.
He has also chaired many BDA committees and is an Honorary Research Fellow at the College of Medicine at the University of Wales.
