A MAN has been charged with dishonesty offences after the discovery of a suspect package at a bank in Radcllife.
An investigation was launched on Monday, April 19, by police and Army bomb disposal experts after a suspect package was found at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Blackburn Street.
Police released images of two men they believed were responsible and one of the men has been traced.
A 35-year-old man from the Radcliffe area will appear at Bury magistrates court on May 11 charged with dishonesty offences.
Det Insp Simon Collier said: "There was an excellent response to the appeal for information. We followed up all the calls we received and all information was treated in confidence.
"This is a good example of the public helping the police to combat crime. There is an excellent CCTV system operating in the area and offenders can often be recorded before, during or after incidents."
Detectives from Whitefield have praised the public for their help in identifying the man, who was captured on CCTV.
