THE thoughts of the world were on wonder-miler Roger Bannister and there was a special feeling of pride in Trawden - where the athlete's father was born.
Roger ran the four-minute mile the previous day, a feat athletes had been trying to achieve for more than forty years. His time was 3 minutes 59.6 seconds.
