NURSERY staff foiled a bogus grandmother who tried to abduct a four-year-old boy.
The woman was challenged when she walked into a nursery in Nelson. She gave the name of a youngster in the room, claiming to be his grandmother, but staff knew the identity of the child's real grandmother and asked for identification, at which the woman ran off.
And a charity sheep race was organised by the Trawden Show committee. The fun race featured a line-up of eight sheep ridden by rag-doll jockeys.
