I READ with some dismay in the Citizen that dogs are not to be allowed on that part of the beach that stretches from the stone jetty to the Battery in Morecambe.
My dog Bramble's favourite pastime is to play ball and this is the ideal place. I will have a difficult job trying to explain it to her.
I suppose this is down to irresponsible dog owners who do not clean up after their pets and also that dog wardens, promenade patrol officers and street wardens will be out in full force to make sure this ban is adhered to.
I was on that particular stretch of beach last Tuesday and, as Bramble ran along to retrieve her ball, I found an assortment of litter that included a whole range of disposable nappies and beer cans.
I would hope the litter louts are going to be policed in a similar manner to the dog owners.
