SURPRISE leaders Lowerhouse will be looking to their young guns to shoot down Todmorden at Centre Vale tomorrow.

LOWERHOUSE'S Vishal Tripathi, 16, is quickly emerging as one of the league's top prospects, and he'll be looking to build on last week's match-winning 77 against Accrington.

Another youngster, Saeed Riaz, took four wickets last weekend.

Jez Hope is back in the side after work commitments, with Tommy Brierley stepping down to the seconds.

TODMORDEN are hoping they can name an unchanged team after scoring wins over both Haslingden and Rishton last weekend.

They are lying fourth but are only 10 points shy of leaders Lowerhouse and will be looking for a win to overhaul the Liverpool Road club. However, they are waiting to see if right-hand medium pacer James Morgan can shake off a thigh strain.

RAWTENSTALL professional, Andrew Payne, is back for the home clash with Enfield after missing last Sunday's match at Colne with a hand injury.

However, left arm opening bowler, John Dawson, is out due to work commitments and will be replaced by Andy Riley.

"Our season starts this weekend!" That's the message from ENFIELD captain Mas Ahmed as new professional Alviro Petersen prepares to make his debut.

South Africa A international Petersen, whose nickname is 'Virus', jetted in this week ahead of tomorrow's game at the Worswick Memorial Ground.

Ahmed, whose side have yet to win a game this season, said: "I had a good chat with the pro and he's really looking forward to the season. He's hungry."

CHURCH will be unchanged for tomorrow's home clash with East Lancs as they look to build on back-to-back wins.

Spokesman Jack Houldsworth said: "East Lancs are definitely one of the teams that will be challenging again, but we should have nothing to fear because we are scoring well and finally got our first wins on the board last weekend."

EAST LANCS, meanwhile, have drafted in South African left-armer Shaun Adam as their substitute professional in the continued absence of Quinton Friend, who's finally expected to arrive in England next week.

Paul Kelly, the East Lancs captain, said: "We really need to get back to winning ways after the defeat to Bacup last Sunday."

COLNE'S replacement professional, Andre Adams, will make his debut at Ramsbottom tomorrow.

The Kiwi medium pace bowler and hard-hitting batsman replaces Mark Cleary, who walked out on the club after just one game. RAMSBOTTOM in turn will be unchanged for the clash.

ACCRINGTON are eager to get back to winning ways after last weekend's double defeat.

But they know they have a tough task in keeping in-form Bacup at arm's length at Thorneyholme Road tomorrow.

However, captain Matt Wilson expects to name an unchanged side.

He said: "People are starting to think it's the same old Accrington, but we're hoping to change those thoughts and get back on a winning track."

James Cunliffe steps in for Peter Killelea as second-placed BACUP look for maximum points at Accrington.

Club spokesman Alick Ormerod said: "Accrington have made a reasonable start but they've got nothing we should be frightened of."

BURNLEY remain unchanged for the home clash with Rishton.

West Indian professional Kerry Jeremy finally showed signs of acclimatising in their only victory so far last weekend against Enfield, where he picked up his first five wicket haul.

RISHTON are hoping to welcome back left-arm paceman Usman Zanzua after a two-year absence but Darren Eccles, Michael Winkley and team captain Jonathon Dobson are all missing for the game at Turf Moor.

"It's good to have Usman back," said Dobson. "He moved away with work for a while but he's now back in the area again and he played in the seconds last week."

NELSON are in third place and will be looking to build on the back-to-back successes of last weekend with a Seedhill win over Haslingden.

Nelson, who are unchanged, will be hoping professional Cameron Cuffy can reproduce the five wicket hauls he achieved against last season's champions East Lancs and the previous title holders Bacup.

HASLINGDEN are again without pro Andrew McDonald and he will be replaced by Kendal's left-arm quickie Kabir Khan.
