IT was the same story but a different ending for Brox in the Manchester Association at the weekend.
After suffering their customary slump chasing a modest total, this time the Summerseat men were able to regroup and scrape home by a one-wicket margin.
Flixton were invited to bat first and immediately looked at home on a flat pitch, but from the prosperity of 68-1, the rest of the batting failed to build on that solid base.
Twin slowmen Gareth Williams and David Brown started the rot, but this was a collective effort from the Brox bowlers, and Pellowe and Read also got in on the act as the visitors could only muster 124.
The Brox reply was dominated by Simon Armsbey. This would not go down as one of the flamboyant opener's most fluent knocks, but his 46 was the backbone of the innings.
Despite wickets falling at refular intervals, Brox always seemed slightly in front until 97-5 became 97-8.
However, for once, the home side came out on top of a tight affair as last pair Williams and Brown scored the required 11 runs in a tense finale.
