LANCASHIRE GMC SUPER LEAGUE: KIRKHAM...5 BURY...5
HAVING travelled to take on their nearest rivals for second place without several regular players, Bury knew they were going to be in for a difficult afternoon.
This was soon apparent, as at the half way stage they found themselves 4-1 in arrears and staring defeat in the face. However, Bury had plenty of experienced players left and this experience was to tell, as first Mick Pilling followed by Dave Studholme, Peter Smith and John Tucci all won to add to Martn Holt's earlier win and put the local side 5-4 up.
The final game went to the home side, but a draw gave Bury the points needed to secure promotion.
This Sunday the final game of the season takes place at the White Boar with St Annes the visitors.
All players must ensure they are present by noon so that team selection can be made.
Anyone who is unable to play should ring 07786871127 by Saturday teatime at the latest.
