EAST Lancashire strongman Mark Felix is this week battling it out against Britain's best as he competes to lift the title of Britain's Strongest Man 2004.
Mark, 38, a self employed plasterer, from Great Harwood, is one of 30 competitors taking part in the famous event being held at Butlins, Minehead until May 13.
The 6ft 4in, 21 stone giant will face some of the most gruelling challenges of strength and stamina including a Motorcycle Walk - where competitors carry two bikes with a combined weight of 406kgs.
He will also compete in the Giant Farmers' Walk with 160kg weight in each hand and the mighty Train Pull, which involves pulling the 40 tonne machinery over 20 metres.
Only 10 of the 30 competitors will make it to the final next week for a chance to compete in the coveted World's Strongest Man later this year.
Mark, who trains for three hours a day, six days a weeks, said: "I am fairly new to the sport and love the buzz of competing and all the different challenges each competition offers."
Film crews are in the resort to record all the action and the event will be broadcast on TV at the end of summer.
