TEENAGER Scott Woodacre is aiming high in the adrenalin pumping world of motocross.

The 14-year-old Lowton High pupil has come on in big leaps and bounds since he started riding just over a year ago on a Honda 90.

Those in the know in the two-wheeled world are tipping him as a youngster to watch because in the space of 12 months he has progressed from an 85cc Yamaha schoolboy 'crosser to the latest KTM 125 on which he is mixing it with the seniors. Already he has attracted sponsorship from SMD Tyres of Leigh and B & D Motorcycles of Atherton.

"He has really taken to the sport, and won four trophies in his first season," said proud dad, Terry, "but we are desperately short of somewhere he can practise legally. The Leigh MCC member travels to Preston once a week to hone his skills at the Docks' practice track.

"We can't use the wasteland at Plank Lane because Police have threatened to confiscate bikes from people riding their. I'm prepared to pay if any landowner can offer somewhere Scott can practise."
