VISITORS to Ramsbottom Farmers' Market helped celebrate its first birthday at the weekend.
Mayor Wilf Davison got his teeth into a very special bit of local produce at the event - a birthday cake and specially made birthday jam.
Ramsbottom Farmers' Market, Local Produce and Crafts Fair has gone from strength to strength since it was launched last year.
The vibrant event takes place every second Sunday of the month in Ramsbottom Market Place and at Ramsbottom Civic Hall. Trisha Willott, Bury Council's Six Towns Co-ordinator, who helps promote the event, said: "The secret to its success is the vast array of produce that is on offer inside the civic hall as well as outside."
Birthday visitors also included Rawtenstall's Britannia Coconutters who danced in the streets.
