A CORONER concluded that the death of a Tyldesley man who died after going on a drinking binge was an accident.
An inquest heard that Mr Derek Melvin Bloor, aged 48, was found dead at his home in High Crest Grove, Tyldesley, on January 6.
A toxicology report carried out during a post mortem examination revealed dangerously high levels of alcohol in his blood and confirmed Mr Bloor's wife Susan's suspicions that he had been on a drinking binge on the day of his death.
She told the inquest that he used to go drinking when the stress of his job as a university lecturer became too much.
Coroner Jennifer Leeming recorded a verdict of accidental death.
