POLICE say a £2million amphetamine seizure may be the largest ever discovery of the drug in Lancashire.
Drugs were found in a police swoop in the Brookhouse area of Blackburn at 3.30pm on Friday. More than 20kg of amphetamine was found.
A police spokesman said: "It is certainly the biggest seizure of amphetamine ever in Blackburn and possibly the county. It has a street value of between £1.25million and £2million."
Insp Stuart Bruce said large drugs seizures were potentially very significant and could impact on suppliers throughout East Lancashire and the North West.
Two teenagers have appeared before Blackburn magistrates charged with possession of amphetamine with intent to supply.
Rizwana Patel, 18, of Mount Trinity, Blackburn, and a 16-year-old boy who can not be named for legal reasons were arrested at a house in Calder Street.
Both defendants were ordered to stand trial at Preston Crown Court. Patel was bailed until June 21 and the boy was remanded in custody.
