PUPILS at a Bury primary school are among the first to try out a new milk bar.
St Luke's CE is one of only two primaries in the borough to trial the bar, which aims to offer healthier lunchtime grub.
Youngsters can choose from chilled flavoured or plain milk, then select a sandwich or salads. For dessert there is a selection of fresh fruit, low-sugar biscuit or low-fat yoghurt.
The milk bar is being run by Bury Council's school catering service in partnership with the Milk Development Council.
Trials will continue at St Luke's, and at Park View CP School in Prestwich, and the idea may be extended to other primary schools.
