A PENDLE school has been praised by inspectors after a series of good exam results.
The Ofsted report on Park High School in Venables Avenue, Colne, found standards in examinations to be rising and described results in key stages as the best ever.
Head teacher Alan Chambers today said he was delighted with the inspector's findings after their visit in March and said: "A good inspection is the result of a community effort."
Inspectors described the 954-pupil school as providing a "rapidly improving quality of education for its pupils" and more than 70 per cent of teaching was rated good, very good or excellent.
Pupils were said to be very positive about learning, taking pride in lessons and other activities, while teachers were praised for having secure subject knowledge and creating good support for the pupils.
Results in National Curriculum tests in Year 9 have improved faster than the national trend.
But the school was also told to improve its links with the community to use the school facilities more out of hours and improve pupils' attendance.
