POLICE believe a high-powered car stolen from the grounds of a primary school may have been used in a robbery at a fashion shop in the Ribble Valley.
A gang of men in a red estate-type vehicle raided TP2 designer clothes shop in Berry Lane, Longridge, in the early hours of Monday.
They threw a rock through the door window before going into the shop and stealing £6,000 worth of clothing.
FCUK jeans and zip tops, Full Circle jeans and gents' tops by Sixty were all among the items stolen.
Police investigating the crime believe the car used in the raid may have been stolen from Salesbury Primary School on Friday night.
The red MG Maestro was stolen from the car park at the school between 7.15pm and 10pm.
Insp Bob Ford said: "It was a very distinctive car in that it had a 2.2 litre engine and the owner had made a lot of modifications to it. The description is similar to the car used in the raid so we think the two are connected.
"We would also like anyone who finds themselves being offered designer clothes cheap in unusual places, like the pub, to contact us."
Anyone with any information should contact Clitheroe Police on 01200 443344.
