I WOULD like to reply to the letter (LET, May 10) about child safety.
I have a great concern about children going on to railway lines near where I live. I have been out numerous times and told them off and warned them that it isn't safe to go onto the railway lines.
All you get is abuse from them. The children have easy access to the railway lines as they climb up the wall to get on.
I think the rail authorities should make their barriers higher so that the kids can't get on. Also parents and schools should stress to children that it is very dangerous to go on a railway line.
D RICKARD (Miss), Railway View, Darwen.
