BLACKBURN Rovers defender Andy Todd last night admitted he wants to stay at Ewood Park and see out the remaining year of his contract.
The former Bolton Wanderers and Charlton defender was recently slapped on the transfer list by manager Graeme Souness after refusing to be a substitute in a match against Leeds United last month.
But Todd, who last night collected the official Supporters Club Player of the Year award, is still hoping to heal his rift with Souness over the next few months.
"I've been told that I can speak to clubs but I've got a year on my contract left and I'm in no rush to leave," said Todd.
"I really like it here, I enjoy it, and this is the best club I've been at so I'm just going to have to be patient.
"Like I said, I've got a year left on my contract and I want to fulfil that but I also want to be playing football.
"I'm 29 now and I need regular first team football so we'll have to wait and see what happens."
Todd would appear to regret his decision not to go on the bench against Leeds but he insists he was not in the right mental state to play after being told he had been dropped from the starting eleven.
He has since had a meeting with the manager to discuss the incident but Souness is unlikely to back down after feeling let down by the player in the club's greatest hour of need.
"He's the manager, he makes the decisions and he's standing by that," said Todd.
"Obviously, I was told I was playing until an hour before kick-off and I was that dejected that I wasn't in the right frame of mind to be a sub.
"Me and the manager have since had a chat about it and I know where I stand."
Several clubs have already been linked with a summer move for Todd, who is available for around £1 million.
Wigan, Millwall, Coventry and Leicester are all thought to be interested but Rovers have yet to receive an official enquiry from anyone.
"It's just rumours at the moment," said Todd.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old was delighted to pick up the official Supporters Club player of the year award at a presentation evening last night.
"It's a great honour for me and I'm very, very happy to receive it," added the defender.
"I'd just like to thank all the fans who've been brilliant with me. I went out on loan to Burnley, our big rivals, and when I came back they accepted me really well, which must have been hard."
