LEIGH Amateur Boxing Club's reputation was further enhanced last weekend with two of their boxers being chosen to represent Manchester against a team from Guernsey.
Middleweight Rory Roberts beat defensive Gareth Hudson after losing the first round.
Heavyweight Michael German was matched with Guernsey's Alex Rose in the fight of the night. German started promisingly with big rights to the body and head of his opponent. By the final round the match had levelled up but the judges voted in favour of the Leigh boxer.
The Leigh club is grateful to Manchester coach Steve Walshaw for his work with their team members.
