LEIGH Harriers scored a victory double in their first track league match.
Competing in division four of the Northern Track and Field League in Blackpool, the senior men and women gave good all-round performances to take top spots.
If they can keep up these kind of performances they can look forward to promotion to division three.
David Smith and Mark Pendlebury scored heavily in the field events, David winning the javelin, taking second in the discus and shot and third in the hammer.
Mark won his discus and javelin events and was second in the shot and third in the hammer.
On the track Alex Urmston took the 3000m steeplechase in 10min 57.1sec while Martin Conroy won the B race in 11min 04.9sec.
Sean Spillane had a first and two seconds in the B400m, 110m hurdles and B800m respectively.
Tom Boardman ran a personal best in the 800m A race to win in 2min 0.5sec.
Jimmy Cooke won the 1500m in 4min 25.3sec while the B race went to Tom Henders in a pb of 4min 27sec.
Darren Smith was second in the 400m hurdles and third in the long jump while John Indricks won the 110m hurdles B race and the 400m.
In his first track race for the club Jamie Hunter finished second in the 1500m.
The ladies' match saw Kellie Thornton win the 200m, and finish runner-up in the 800m and long jump. Louise Boardman won the B200m and was second in the B100m.
Lauren Howarth took second spot in the A800m while E Bilsbury won the B race and was second in the A100m.
Yasmin Foulds finished second in the A400m and triple jump while Carla Gregory and Helena Rimmer scored well in the field events.
