UNDER-AGE drinking is no longer a problem, say consumer watchdogs.
Trading Standards chiefs said they have seen huge improvements in the way off-licences are saying 'no' to children in the wake of an undercover operation which targeted stores in the Leigh area.
School age volunteers who tried to buy alcohol from licensed premises in the area found only one outlet which served them compared to last September when there were 20.
Officers concentrated on 'hotspots' for illegal sales identified during a sweep to tackle the under age drink problem.
