A MOTHER and daughter had a lucky escape after two wheelie bins were pushed alongside the back door of their home and set on fire.
The blaze spread to the back door of the property on Sussex Place, Tyldesley in the early hours of last Thursday.
The homeowner heard the wheelie bins being pushed outside her back door before she smelt smoke. She quickly raised the alarm and got herself and her mother out.
Firefighters battled for over an hour to extinguish the blaze, which severely damaged the back door and caused smoke damage throughout the house.
Firefighters and the police have launched an investigation.
