CHARITY golfers are teeing off to help the borough's biggest school.
Astley Rotary Club has organised a golf day in July on behalf of Leigh St Mary's RC High School, Astley, which was awarded specialist college status in computing and maths earlier this year.
All money raised from the event at Leigh Golf Club on July 30 will be used to support the building of a new centre at the front of the school.
The village Rotary Club answered an appeal for sponsors to help the bid for college status from the head teacher, Mr David Burnett.
With the bid won the club decided to organise the charity golf event to help fund the building.
Anyone wishing to sponsor the event or provide prizes can contact Tony on 01942 265670.
All cheques should be made payable to Astley Rotary Club, c/o Acorn Building Services Ltd, Alexandra House, Greenfold Way, Leigh, WN7 3XJ.
