A REGIONAL water watchdog will critically examine plans by United Utilities to increase charges by 40 per cent or £101 plus inflation.
WaterVoice North West is urging customers to give their views on the proposals at its meeting at Bridgewater House House in Manchester on Thursday, May 27.
Last week, United Utilities detailed an investment programme of £3.2 billion, of which £1.5 billion is earmarked for Government-required environmental improvements.
WaterVoice says this means the average household bill will need to rise by more than £100 during the next five years.
