A GENTLE stroll for charity through picturesque villages turned into an eight-mile trek for 65-year-old Marina Chadwick and Gizmo the dog after they got lost.
Keen walker Mrs Chadwick and her friend's dog took part in the national walk for Breast Cancer Research UK.
Mrs Chadwick, who lives in Greenside Drive, Greenmount, said: "My friend had died from cancer and so I decided to do the four-mile walk and collected sponsorship money.
"Somehow it turned into an eight-mile walk. Gizmo and I started from the Canon Lewis Hall, walked to Summerseat and ended up near Turton Heights in Bolton. I don't know what happened, we must have got lost!"
"But it was all in a good cause because I managed to raise £150 for the charity."
