EVERY house has a history: and residents have a chance to discover theirs at an event tomorrow (Saturday May 15).
Bury Council is holding a "Tracing the History of Your House" session at Ramsbottom Library from 11am to 4pm.
A range of records will help people discover when their house was built, whether it was altered, who lived there and so on.
Sources concentrate on Ramsbottom and Tottington, but there will be some material from other parts of the metropolitan borough.
The session will be run by borough archivist Kevin Mulley, along with members of Ramsbottom Heritage Society and Lancashire Family History and Heraldry Society.
Mr Mulley said: "Every house has a history: even new houses are often built on the site of vanished older buildings. It's a piece of history that everyone can relate to. Knowing about the history of your house can also be very useful, for example if you are renovating the property, or have structural or legal problems with it."
