BLACKBURN Rovers axed their 34-year-old manager John Pickering and revealed their new boss could be a player-manager.
Chairman Derek Keighly revealed that directors had decided not to offer Mr Pickering a new contract after it ran out in June. Liverpool and England star Emlyn Hughes was one of the names being touted for the role.
