SPORTY youngsters at Parrenthorn High School are jumping for joy after receiving a national award.
The Heywood Road school was presented with the Sportsmark award from Sport England for their top-class provision of sporting activities for pupils.
The school has teams in football, netball, hockey, badminton and many more, keeping youngsters fit and healthy.
The award is presented in recognition of Parrenthorn's commitment to physical education and sports provision.
Headteacher Mick Fitzgerald said: "This is a real achievement and we are delighted to receive the award from Sport England. We must continue to reinforce the benefits of keeping active and fit to our young people as they are the next generation and sport is a key building block to a healthy adult life."
