DARWEN Subs overcame rivals Globe to reach the semi-finals of this year's Thwaites East Lancs League's Lancashire Evening Telegraph Cup.
Subs' victory is on the back of a great league win at Globe's Accrington green earlier in the season and they must now rate as a bogey team for the Accrington club.
Colne Cricket overcame Bar Lane at the top to stake their place in the semi's where they now face the ever-improving Turton outfit who saw off the challenge of East Lancs.
The surprise team in the semi-finals is without doubt Colne Legion who inflicted the second defeat in a fortnight on Greenhill Burnley, who just can't seem to get their season moving in the right direction.
The giant-killing will have to continue if the Colne lads are going to get to this year's final, Darwen Subs their semi-final opponents.
Fixtures: R Utility v Colne BL; East Lancs v Darwen Subs; St Andrew's v Bar Lane; Colne Cricket v Greenhill; Turton v Globe.
