ORIENTEERING courses for people of all abilities have been created in Burnley.
Two routes have been marked out by the South East Lancashire Orienteering Team for United Utilities at Clowbridge, one for able-bodied people and the other for the less able, including wheelchair users.
The courses take in the Dunnockshaw community woodland, which is a five-year project involving United Utilities to make the land more accessible by creating new footpaths and bridleways and planting thousands of trees.
The work will be finished later this year.
Matt Taylor, United Utilities countryside ranger at Dunnockshaw, Lumb and Worsthorne, said: "I'm sure the orienteering courses will be a great success.
"We are always trying to improve public access to our recreational sites and we've definitely done this at Dunnockshaw.
"I've had positive feedback from new parents with prams, elderly people in mobility vehicles and dog walkers."
An official launch of the two course is being held on Saturday, from 10am to 2pm.
Anyone can use the orienteering courses at any time. Maps cost £1 and can be bought from the sailing club at Clowbridge.
