A NELSON primary school has been praised for turning round its standards.
Holy Saviour School was told by education watchdog inspectors that despite children entering with levels below the national average, the school was responsible for turning attainment round to standards above national averages.
Father Michael Haworth, the chairman of governors, said the school was delighted with the Ofsted report following the March inspection.
He said: "Everyone involved in the school - staff, pupils, parents and governors should be proud of such a positive report. I expected nothing less."
The report aid the school was "effective" and praised pupils' excellent attitudes and behaviour.
