PENDLE'S returning officer has pledged to take a robust stance on security in the forthcoming all-postal elections.
Voters will cast their votes by post for the Pendle Council and European elections by June 10.
A telephone hotline has been set up for anyone needing help with the new system and returning officer Stephen Barnes has pledged to work closely with Royal Mail and the police to ensure the process runs smoothly. Voters should receive a letter by the end of this week guiding them through the election process.
Mr Barnes said: "It is important the voters have faith in the postal system and we would like to reassure the public that a robust stance will be taken against anyone attempting to fraudulently influence the election."
The helpline for advice on the postal system is 01282 661919.
