A 24-YEAR-OLD man was annoyed when his partner phoned while he was drinking with a friend and asked if his wage had gone into the bank.
Blackburn magistrates heard that during the argument that occurred when he got home Robert Alisdair Henderson became abusive and threatening towards Tracey McGlynn.
And she was grabbed by the neck and the arm and dragged into the kitchen as she was on the phone reporting the incident to the police.
Henderson, of Leicester Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to assault and criminal damage. He was fined £150 and ordered to pay £75 compensation and £65 costs.
Eddie Harrison, prosecuting, said Miss McGlynn went upstairs with her six year-old son to wait for the police to arrive. Henderson left the house and on his way smashed the windows in her car which was parked on the drive.
Stephen Parker, defending, said the couple were still together and Miss McGlynn had attended court on a previous occasion and made it clear she did not wish to proceed against him.
"This was a domestic which got out of hand," said Mr Parker.
