FUMING Blackburn boss Graeme Souness insisted Stern John's late equaliser should never have counted because of a foul on Lucas Neill.
Souness was so incensed by Dermot Gallagher's decision to allow the goal to stand that he stayed for barely 30 seconds to answer questions in Saturday's post-match Press conference.
"I am deeply disappointed by the manner in which we have conceded the goal late on," blasted Souness.
"Although television replays don't show the foul taking place, Lucas Neill is clearly sent tumbling by something.
"I saw him pushed in the back, so in my opinion it should have been a foul and not a goal for Birmingham.
"But it has been a very frustrating season for me and I suppose that was a fitting end for us."
Referring to the match as a whole, Souness added: "It wasn't a good game of football and I don't think we were at it.
"We started brightly in the first-half and they didn't cause us any problems until they made changes in the second half.
"But for their goalkeeper, we could probably have won the game early in the second half."
