SEMI-NAKED gnomes which added a unique touch to a Morecambe garden have been plucked from the lawn by thieves.
The distinctive set of 10 hand-painted garden gnomes were snatched from a front garden on Cathedral Drive, Heaton-with-Oxcliffe.
Nicknamed The Rudies, the gnomes are posed sitting on the toilet, pulling moonies and in other cheeky positions.
"They are not worth much but we have had them for more than 10 years and they are unique. Since I bought them at an auction they have always been the main feature in the garden of our houses," says owner George Kenyon.
George, who is now retired, spends time every year painting his gnomes, but claims he is not a collector.
"My wife and I often go to auctions and they just caught my eye and were a good price, although I did not realise how special they were until I got them home. I just thought they were ordinary garden gnomes," he says.
He is angry that someone has stolen the collection but hopes they will return home safe and sound. Anyone with information should is asked to call police on 01524-63333.
