RESIDENTS in Pendle are set to receive extra help in their learning and career development with the launch of a new website.
The site, www.accesspendle.co.uk, will give people the opportunity to create their own specific action plan on how to achieve their chosen career goal.
The website is themed as a virtual high street, with each building representing different aspects of learning and employment.
It will be launched at an event which will teach people how to use the website. They will receive advice on email, developing a personal action plan and how to search for local teaching courses and jobs.
In addition to the website advice, organisations supporting the website, run by the Learning and Employment Access for Pendle, will be on hand to offer information on local learning and advice like interview techniques.
Taster course including calligraphy and healthy eating will also be held.
The lunch event is on Friday, June 18 between 10am and 2pm, next to the Market Halls in Colne town centre.
