A DRUG addict who went on a deception spree with a stolen credit card was given a nine month community rehabilitation order by Burnley magistrates.
Elaine White, 34, of Hawarden Street, Nelson, admitted deception and attempted deception and was also ordered to pay £40.06 compensation.
Andy Robinson, prosecuting, told the court the card was said to have been taken from a woman whose son was also a drug addict.
She locked her bedroom at night but forgot about the card. The woman had gone to bed at 9pm but by 10.30pm, White was in Colne Asda. She got £30 worth of shopping, with £50 cash back and then tried to get 200 cigarettes.
Richard Taylor, defending, said White was on benefits. Her accomplice needed a female to use the card.
