MARATHON running teacher Neil Dawson was able to go the extra mile in his charity fund-raising -- thanks to pupils at Broad Oak High.
Mr Dawson (34), director of sport at the school, took part in the London Marathon to raise cash for the charity Whizz-Kidz.
And, determined to do their bit, students took part in a sponsored fitness session, including aerobics and circuit training.
Both ventures generated a total of £1,860 for the charity which provides mobility equipment for disabled youngsters.
Mr Dawson said: "To run the marathon was a great personal achievement. The generosity of the pupils and staff in supporting this charity has been unbelievable and should make a big difference to the lives of some disabled children."
