MOTHS and bats will be monitored at Pleasington Nature Reserve on Saturday as part of a national census into the nocturnal animals.
As part of National Moth Night, countryside staff from Blackburn with Darwen Council and Lancashire Wildlife Trust are inviting people to meet at Pleasington Cemetery gates, at 8pm, to walk up to the reserve. Moths will be trapped and recorded, and bat detection equipment used. Council officer Bronwen Earnshaw said: "If you know nothing about moths, bats, or things that go bump in the night, this event is for you."
